Hi, It’s Luke here.
In this video I'm going to show you VXT’s integration with Actionstep.
Can’t watch the video right now? Check out a summary of the highlights below!
What is VXT?
VXT is a cloud-based VoIP phone system built for lawyers.
Actionstep Integration Features
Automatic File Notes
With VXT’s Actionstep integration, you can automatically record notes from phone calls as file notes against matters in Actionstep.
Automatic Time Entry
20% of time spent on phone calls goes unrecorded. With VXT you can automatically record the time that you spend on phone calls as time entries.
Understand Who is Calling
Because VXT syncs your contact list from Actionstep, when you receive an incoming call from an Actionstep contact, VXT will display their name so you always know who is calling.
Mobile and Desktop Applications
The integration works on mobile and PC, so no matter where you’re making calls you can save them to Actionstep. These features are just a few examples of how VXT helps Actionstep users save time, record more billable hours and mitigate risk.
The VXT Calling Experience
So my Law Firm uses VXT as its phone system and I want to make a quick call. Because my contact list from Actionstep is synced, I can search my Actionstep contacts by name or number, or of course use the dial pad to enter a new number.
When I'm on a call, there are a bunch of controls in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. I can click the plus button to add someone to the call, make a conference call, or transfer the call to a colleague.
I can take my own manual notes during the call, as well as record the call, with the option to turn call recording off and on throughout the call.
After the call, the recording can be transcribed and saved against a matter in Actionstep. Because VXT knows that the contact is associated with a matter in Actionstep, it's made a suggestion to save the data to that matter. If I wasn't happy with the matter suggested, I could search any of my other matters by matter name or number.
I can also log my time for this call. VXT is going to pull my default rates from Actionstep and display them, but I could edit the bill behavior of this time entry or change my rate.
I can review the notes I took while I was on the call and once I'm happy I can hit save and all of the data associated with the call I just made is now saved in Actionstep as a file note and a time entry.
What it Looks Like in Actionstep
When i’m in Actionstep, If I look at the matter that I saved this call to I can see: the parties that were on the call, notes that I took during the call and the transcription.
There is also a link to the call in VXT if I wanted to review the audio recording.
If I jump to billing, I can see the time entry I recorded and can also review it via my timesheet.
