What is Filevine?
Filevine, founded in 2014 and based in Salt Lake City, Utah, is a case management system primarily supporting mid-sized law firms across the U.S. While it started as a tool for personal injury attorneys, features like time tracking have attracted firms from other areas of law to the platform as well. Filevine combines case management, document handling, and task management into one collaborative platform.
When used with VXT, Filevine becomes even more valuable for law firms. VXT is the only phone system integrated with Filevine that syncs contacts, automatically creates file notes, and ensures attorneys will never miss a call.

New Features Released by Filevine Live at LEXSummit
One of the key moments at LEXSummit was the unveiling of Filevine’s latest features. Attendees got an exclusive look, and access to Depo CoPilot™, a deposition assistant designed to offer real-time transcription and goal tracking during depositions, helping attorneys work more efficiently.
In addition to that, Filevine’s new Client Portal was introduced, aimed at improving communication between law firms and their clients. Alongside these releases, the summit featured over 65 workshops and breakout sessions focused on practical strategies to optimize legal operations.
Why the First Call Defines Success for Personal Injury Attorneys
Personal injury attorneys face more calls than any other area of law, often from clients unsure if they even have a case. High volume, high stakes—if the first call is missed or sent to voicemail, it’s likely the last. For firms working on contingency fees, every missed call is a missed opportunity to bring in a valuable client. In a competitive market, you can’t afford to let that slip.
That’s why at LEX Summit, the first call was a big focus. It’s the moment when potential clients decide if they trust you to handle their case. Miss that, and you lose the business.
The Phone System Personal Injury Attorneys Need
VXT stood out by tackling these problems head-on. With its deep integration with Filevine, VXT ensures that no call gets left behind.
Customized call flows reroute calls to team members or voicemail when needed, and VXT’s analytics show exactly where calls are missed, helping firms improve response times and capture every opportunity.
If a client is already in Filevine or Lead Docket, VXT lets attorneys know who’s calling before they pick up the phone. Once your on the phone, VXT saves file notes about your call to the project in Filevine automatically. No more hunting down conversations or key client info—it’s all there, stored and ready for when you need it.
